Done! I didn't take pictures in the inbetween stages, but let's just say it required a lot of spray paint, tape, plastic bag and mustard.

I used it as a masking compound when I wanted the silver to show through. 'Tis weathering. In the spring I'll probably kick my bucket around a bit to make it look more weathered.
I also used the suspension from a hard hat to keep it sitting nice and straight on my head.
I put a little LED light in one of the ear pieces so I could have a little spot light. It was mentioned in the Republic Commando novels and I thought, "Hey, why can't I have one?" Cutting out the hole took ages and was responsible for some of the chisel gouges.
